MJ Academy ("we", "us", or "our") is an educational application that provides learning materials, video solutions, practice exams, and subscription-based content for students. - Account Information — When you sign up, we collect your name, mobile phone number, and email address (if provided).
- Profile Information — Any profile details you choose to add, such as a display name or profile picture.
- Payment Information — When you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed through Razorpay or UPI. We do not store your full card number or UPI PIN. We store payment transaction IDs, amounts, and subscription plan details.
- Communications — Messages you send to our support channels or feedback you provide within the app.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Usage Data — Pages visited, videos watched, exam attempts, scores, time spent on content, and other learning activity within the app.
- Device Information — Device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and app version.
- Log Data — IP address, access timestamps, crash logs, and error reports.
1.3 Information from Third Parties
- Authentication Providers — If you sign in using a third-party service, we may receive your name and contact details from that provider.
- Payment Gateways — Razorpay provides us with transaction status, payment IDs, and limited billing details to confirm your payment.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account.
- Provide, personalise, and improve the learning experience.
- Process payments and manage your subscription.
- Track your learning progress, exam scores, and study patterns.
- Send you notifications about your account, subscriptions, new content, and exam reminders (you can opt out in Settings).
- Detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, or security breaches.
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:
- Service Providers — Third-party companies that help us operate the Service (e.g. cloud hosting, payment processing, push notifications). They access information only as needed to perform their services and are bound by confidentiality obligations.
- Payment Processors — Razorpay processes payments on our behalf. Their handling of your data is governed by the Razorpay Privacy Policy.
- Legal Requirements — We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
- Business Transfers — In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
4. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including:
- Encryption of data in transit (HTTPS/TLS).
- Hashed and salted password storage.
- Access controls and authentication for administrative systems.
- Regular security audits and monitoring.
However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we need to retain certain records for legal, accounting, or compliance purposes.

The mobile application does not use browser cookies. We may use analytics tools (such as Firebase Analytics) to understand how the app is used and to improve the Service. You can opt out of analytics tracking in the app settings where available.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy in the app and updating the "Last Updated" date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
